Dilip Ghosh faces TMC protests in Monteswar; Vehicle damaged, 1 injured in stone pelting
Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, addressing a gathering in Shahganj town under his Budhni assembly seat, became emotional as he assured the audience of his continued presence among the people, particularly his sisters.
Chouhan acknowledged the shift from being the Chief Minister to a different role, comparing it to a period of "vanvas" (exile) while waiting for "rajtilak" (coronation). Following the BJP's dominant victory in the November 2023 Madhya Pradesh assembly polls, the party chose Mohan Yadav as the new Chief Minister, displacing Chouhan, who had previously served four terms in the role.
Shivraj Chouhan, while addressing a gathering in Shahganj town under his Budhni assembly seat on Tuesday evening, got emotional and said he will continue to be among the people, especially his sisters."I will not go anywhere. I will live here and die here," Mr Chouhan said when a couple of women sitting in the audience shouted "bhaiyya (brother), don't go anywhere leaving us alone."
Expressing a commitment to stay in the region and fulfill promises made during the previous BJP government, Chouhan assured that ongoing projects, including women's welfare initiatives like the Ladli Behna Yojana, housing schemes, and promises to farmers, would be continued by the present government.
Despite the change in leadership, Chouhan emphasized the BJP's governance in the state, affirming that the new government would carry forward the initiatives. Chouhan, who won the election from the Budhni assembly seat, reiterated his dedication to serving the people and remaining connected to his constituents.
